Citizens Advice Bolton
Bolton and District Citizens Advice Bureau (Citizens Advice Bolton) was a Local Citizens Advice (formerly known as Citizens Advice Bureau). Although part of a network, it operated as an independent company limited by guarantee with charitable status.
I was appointed as Vice Chair at the same time as joining the board and continued in that role for the length of my service. I was also a member of the finance and HR committees.
I chaired meetings and delivered a thank you speech to the volunteers and staff at the annual dinner.
During my period, several local organisations formed a wider group of Citizens Advice Greater Manchester. This was a separate organisation, and I was one of the two representatives from Bolton.
I was also a member of the national Trustee Development Group, which consisted of trustees from around the country together with national staff, who worked together to improve trustee processes.
Some time after I left, the organisation merged with its equivalent in a neighbouring area and is now Citizens Advice Bury and Bolton.
